Recently, Nathaniel "Nathan" Montenegro (Paolo Avelino) found Katerina Alcantara/Montenegro (Julia Montes) at the house of Luisa Alcantara/Reyes (Sharmaine Buencamino). Nathan tricked Katerina by using Katerina and Daniel's knock. Katerina, on the other hand, thought that it was Daniel Cruz/Guidotti (Coco Martin) who knocked but she was very shocked seeing Nathan. Luckily, Katerina came and protected Katerina from Nathan. Daniel and Nathan fought with each other just to have Katerina but Nathan was unlucky. Daniel was informed by Yaya Perla (Arlene Muhlach) that Nathan was there looking for him. Later that time, Daniel and Katerina left together with Virginia Cruz (Helen Gamboa). Daniel wanted to get away from Nathan to protect both Katerina and Virginia. Meanwhile, Nathan was very disappointed and hurt that Katerina escaped from him and was helped by Daniel. On the other hand, Daniel together with Katerina and Virginia rested for awhile inside Daniel's car. After a few hours, Katerina and Daniel woke up and noticed Virginia who was not feeling well. Katerina and Daniel then rushed Virginia to the hospital, making sure that Virginia would be alright. Daniel and Katerina wanted to stay at Virginia's side but it will only risk their lives. Virginia, on the other hand, insisted Daniel to leave without her, to protect themselves from Nathan. Virginia even let Daniel realize that Katerina's life is more important that her. Left without a choice, Daniel and Katerina left without Virginia. Later that time, when Daniel and Katerina are already away from the hospital, Daniel received a call from Nathan, informing him that Virginia is with Nathan. Daniel was then asked by Nathan to surrender himself to him so that Nathan would let Virginia go.
